Sept. 24, 2019: Keds is getting ready to put women one step closer to the polls today on National Voter Registration Day. Teaming with designer Rachel Antonoff, the collaborators are encouraging women to register to vote and spread the message on their feet. The result is the “Hysterical Female” sneaker, featuring the words in black emblazoned on a white Keds shoe. Throughout history, outspoken females have been deemed as suffering a form of “hysteria,” so the message is an apt one considering it’s also the 100th anniversary of women’s voting rights. Along with the product release, available on Keds.com, the brand is participating in a daylong shutdown on Instagram.
