In perhaps the most disturbing week for celebrity couples sharing their PDA on social media, Cole Sprouse added to the kissing frenzy with a picture of he and Riverdale costar and former/current girlfriend Lili Reinhart kissing in a photobooth-esque image on Instagram.
On the heels of both Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s awkward kissing video and the memes that have followed Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp’s, er, French kiss, Cole’s PDA-filled birthday dedication to Lili is quite tame in comparison. Dedicated to Lili’s 23rd birthday, Cole wrote, “Lil @lilireinhart was born on a Friday the 13th and haven’t I just been so lucky ever since?”
Standing against a pale blue background, the first frame of the photo shows the couple embraced in each others arms. The subsequent three frames feature the couple kissing — although it does look like Cole might be vampire-biting Lili in the last frame…
Although Cole and Lili were rumored to have split earlier this summer, the couple has since thwarted any defining of the relationship. Lili even called out the tabloids and fans that commented on the duo’s rumored split, saying people don’t “know sh*t” about them together.
Following the July rumors, Lili shared a love poem dedicated to Cole on his 27th birthday in August. She wrote the poem on Instagram, the verse reading: “I tried to find a poem / that I could send to you. / Because my words were failing me. / But I searched and found nothing that did you justice. / All of these love poems can’t get it right. / No one else’s words could ever fit. / They haven’t known the fortune it is to love you.”
While Cole and Lili appear to be happier than ever, fans of the duo’s TV counterparts Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper will have to wait until October premiere of Riverdale season 4 to see what’s in store for the couple on the small screen.
