Cole Sprouse's Next Role Will Be in Podcast Drama "Borrasca"

It's big Riverdale vibes, of course.

We always knew Riverdale star Cole Sprouse had artistic pursuits outside of starring on the hit CW series. Earlier this week, Cole added another one to his list of many projects: starring in a podcast drama called Borrasca.

Cole is branching out into some new territory with Borrasca, which, according to Deadline's report, has big Riverdale energy. The outlet reports Borrasca will follow "Sam Walker, whose parents move him and his sister to the picturesque mountain town of Drisking, Missouri. It quickly becomes clear there may be more to the town than what they can see on the surface. When his sister suddenly disappears, Sam becomes obsessed with untangling the local lore, the juvenile rhymes and legends taking on an entirely new – and dark – meaning as more teens continue to disappear."

Borrasca will debut in April and comes from the rapidly-expanding Los Angeles-based studio QCode, also responsible for popular podcast dramas Blackout starring Rami Malek and Carrier starring Cynthia Erivo. Borrasca will story will run for eight episodes, each last 30 minutes. We should expect the podcast to have some thriller and horror elements since it was written by Rebecca Klingel, the writer behind Netflix's super spooky but very poignant The Haunting of Hill House.

Cole has stayed fairly quiet about Borrasca on his socials, but we should hopefully see him promoting it as we get closer to that April premiere date. In the meantime, you can catch him Jugheading it up on Riverdale Season 4, which returns to the CW tonight, January 22.
