Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson's relationship is seemingly going from strength to strength, with Cody releasing a love song about his new beau. And yeah, the lyrics are quite something.

In case you need a refresh, the pair were first linked when a fan snapped them kissing during a lunch date in LA. Miley then took things Instagram official, referring to Cody as her "boyfriend" on Instagram Stories, before Cody also shared a number of pictures of them together.

Miley then pointed out the awkward similarity between her new relationship to that of her dates with Kaitlynn Carter and marriage to Liam Hemsworth, while another report claimed Cody was moving into Miley's house.

And while that hasn't been 100% confirmed, what is further confirmation of their romance is Cody's new song, Golden Thing. The pair have been teasing the release on their social media channels, and the song came out today, featuring a picture of Miley as the album artwork.

It's very clearly about Miley, with lyrics including:

"Crystal dream / Cali queen / Radiant hand / Vibrant sand / It’s a golden thing she’s got / In the heights of night / And if we could be heard / For whatever it's worth / The rulers in the sky / They'd cry.

"Shouted the words / In the first daylight / And the chorus of birds / Burst on into sight / Now I know that I’m heard / For whatever it's worth / By the rulers in the sky"

Some fans are praising the blossoming romance, others are pointing out how intensely it's developed. Is he literally saying their romance would make God cry? What words did he shout? The L-word?! This is a lot.

Speaking about the relationship, Cody's manager Matt Zeidman shed some light how it's going. Speaking to People, he said, "It is early, but their friendship is long-standing and deeper than people realise. Though they originally met during their own wilder phases, they’re both sober now and are focused on health, work and spending time together. Seems pretty ideal to me."

Meanwhile, Cody's mum Angie shared a photo of the couple on Instagram, writing, "Puts a smile on my dial to see you both so blissfully happy .Hearing your laughs and seeing the smiles on your faces lights up my heart."
