Coco Rocha Is Officially On the Brink of Supermodel Stardom

Coco Rocha has officially joined the modeling major league.
IMG Models, agency to the world’s most famous beautiful faces, announced on Wednesday that it had just signed the 26-year-old Canadian model and new mom, worldwide. This marks the first time she’s been repped by one brand across the globe; she was previously at Wilhelmina Models.
Recently, IMG made headlines for signing its first-ever trans woman talent, model Hari Nef, as well as model/actress Amber Valletta. The agency merged with WME in spring 2014, which has represented Rocha’s non-modeling gigs (including TV, speaking engagements, commercials, and books) for the last two years.
So why is Rocha signing with IMG such a big deal? Well for one thing, the agency is home to the world’s biggest names in modeling — and that’s no exaggeration. Rocha’s new agency mates include Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Lara Stone, and tons more. Picture a familiar face, and she’s probably an IMG girl.
It’s also known as an agency where careers, more often than not, grow and flourish. Take, Miranda Kerr’s, for example: Prior to signing with IMG in 2009, the Aussie model appeared in ads for Clinique fragrance Happy, department store brand XOXO, and Victoria’s Secret. After, she scored lucrative campaigns with Prada, Jil Sander, Rag & Bone, and Mango — where she replaced Moss.
Considering how impressive Rocha’s 12-year-long career has already been thus far — she’s been in campaigns for Dior, Chanel, and Balenciaga, walked for Marc Jacobs, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana, mentored rising models on The Face, released a book of poses, and has a social media following of 16 million… phew! — we can hardly even imagine what incredible opportunities are on her horizon.
Add on her other-worldly beauty and affinity for gravity-defying photoshoots, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Rocha earns the title of “supermodel” in the very near future.
