Coach x Selena Gomez: First Look at the Collaboration

Selena Gomez is taking her relationship with Coach to the next level. Since being named a brand ambassador in December 2016, the performer has collaborated with creative director Stuart Vevers on two custom Met Gala looks, as well as a handbag, which was released last fall. (Only the latter was available for purchase, naturally.) But patience pays off: Coach x Selena Gomez is getting into ready-to-wear—and we finally got a first look.

This installment of Coach x Selena Gomez features apparel (from silk slipdresses to sweaters and hoodies), accessories, and two new handbag silhouettes. Check out the first campaign for the capsule, which was photographed by Steven Meisel in New York.

Gomez made sure to include a lot of personal touches within the collection. Some of the pieces feature a secret message, in her handwriting—it reads: "Not perfect, Always me." (The handbag Gomez carried at the 2018 Met Gala featured a similar detail.) Coach x Selena Gomez will be available for preorder on August 14; it's expected to drop on August 31.

“I’m so proud of the collection,” Gomez said in a statement. “What I love most about working with the Coach team is that they just know how I dress. Everything felt authentic from the beginning.”

“I love working with Selena because she brings her strong point-of-view to the design process,” Stuart Vevers, Coach's creative director, added. “I wanted all of the pieces to reflect her style and her charm—and to feel effortless.”

Gomez, who is also a spokesperson for Puma, released a pair of sneakers with complementary socks for the sportswear label earlier this year.
