Last night in New York’s Soho, Disney’s Maleficent was out and about. Or rather, her spirit was present at the Coach boutique on Prince Street, where her ghoulish yet stylish visage was on full display. The all-American fashion house partnered with the childhood-favorite studio on a limited-edition capsule of accessories and ready-to-wear that takes the preciousness out of princess moments with the Disney x Coach: A Dark Fairy Tale collection. Presiding over the evening was creative director Stuart Vevers, who brought together a star-studded crew, including a few former Disney kids. Rowan Blanchard, a veteran of the mouse house, held court in a cool mash-up of polished downtown style with a white bomber, striped top, and leather pants, while model Riley Montana showed how to wear sportswear like a supermodel in a leather jacket and cropped tobacco-colored trousers. After special themed cocktails and nibbles, guests lingered—and posed for selfies with the oversize Tyrannosaurus rex—while grooving to tracks spun by DJ Venus X.
