Coach Collaborated With Kirsten Dunst's Fashion Brand

Back in late June, while promoting one of her many projects coming out this summer, current Fashionista obsession Ayo Edebiri wore a darling short-sleeved white top and creamy corduroy pants embroidered with dinosaurs and horseshoes. Stylist Laura Sophie Cox credited the 'fit on Instagram to Coach and Kirsten Dunst. (Yes, that Kirsten Dunst.)

Dunst reposted it, confirming it was part of an upcoming collaboration between the American fashion brand and her own venture, Observed by Us.

Though the historically low-key (and perennially stylish) actor hasn't done a lot of promotion around it, she's been working on the project with friend and illustrator Jessica Herschko; according to Instagram, Observed by Us began with Herschko customizing clothes and shoes with her drawings and selling them online. The idea, according to a press release, is to "capture the spirit of imagination that makes the process of creation fun."

So far, Observed by Us has operated on a one-off or commission basis. This collaboration by Coach marks the first time it's scaling up, extending this approach to a proper collection of ready-to-wear and accessories. There are T-shirts, knits, blouses, dresses and other separates, plus classic Coach styles like the Swinger 20 and the Tabby Messenger 19 covered in Observed by Us illustrations of flowers, ladybugs, dragonflies, fruit, UFOs and horse-drawn carriages, among other motifs. Prices range from $20 to $595.

It's whimsical, and in line with the crafty Americana aesthetic Stuart Vevers has been sowing at Coach over the past few years, with its vintage-inspired silhouettes, patches and emphasis on customization.

"We got to celebrate our shared love of imagination and playfulness," Vevers said, in a statement. "Kirsten, and her style, has often been an inspiration for me, so to design alongside her and Jessica, and to blend their vivid storytelling and color with our own American heritage design language and craftsmanship was really inspiring."

Herschko added: "We started Observed By Us to create clothing and other items with images that evoke a special, happy feeling and a sense of appreciation for both the natural and the man made. It was very fun to collaborate with Coach because, much like us, they see a world of possibility in the small details and have the ability to execute that perfectly."
