The heartbreaking news comes just weeks after the pop group announced a comeback tour.

S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole has died.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole," a statement from his family and the pop group revealed, according to BBC. He was 46.

The outlet reports that he passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. A cause of death is currently unknown. However, the statement revealed that the “Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.”

The pop group's official Twitter also shared the news, writing, “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.”

“He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time,” the statement added.

Per photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Cattermole was spotted going for a stroll and skipping rocks just the day before his death was announced.

The heartbreaking news comes just weeks after the band announced a comeback tour and Cattermole rekindled his friendship with band member and former girlfriend Hannah Spearritt, 41.

The group announced the reunion in February in addition to a European arena tour ahead of their 25th anniversary.

The septet— comprised of Rachel Stevens, 44, Jon Lee, 40, Bradley McIntosh, 41, Jo O'Meara, 43, Tina Barrett, 46, Spearritt and Cattermore — was set to kick off their 11 shows on Oct. 13 in the U.K and Ireland.

S Club 7 was one of the biggest pop acts in the late ‘90s and into the early ‘00s with hits like “Don’t Stop Movin’” and “S Club Party.”

Created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller in 1988, the group clocked in a series of No. 1 hit singles in the U.K., took home two Brit Awards, and made it to the top 10 in the US with their biggest single, “Never Had a Dream Come True.”

They also took over the TV landscape with several shows, including Miami 7, L.A. 7 and Hollywood 7 and Viva S Club.

Cattermole, who was gearing up to be part of the reunion, exited the group in June 2002 due to creative differences, rejoining his former metal band, as the pop group continued on as S Club.
