Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – Clouds increase this evening with showers moving in overnight. Showers will be possible throughout the weekend with cooler temperatures. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Clouds will be on the increase for the evening with showers starting very late today and into the overnight. It will warm back up again with lows in the lower fifties and a breeze from the south at 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY:

We start off the weekend on Saturday with some chances for showers. Rain will be spotty in the morning and will become steadier in the afternoon and evening. Otherwise skies will be mostly cloudy all day with highs in the lower to mid sixties and a breeze from the south at 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY:

Showers will persist and even strengthen on Sunday to round out the weekend. It will be a bit cooler out with highs in the lower sixties.

NEXT WEEK:

We dry out and warm up to start off the new work week. Skies will be mostly cloudy on Monday with highs in the mid seventies. We will remain on the dry side on Tuesday as well. Skies will be mostly cloudy with highs in the upper seventies. Showers return as we get into midweek. A warm front moves in on Wednesday bringing in showers and storms. It will be very warm with highs in the lower eighties. A low pressure system moves through on Thursday bringing in more rain and some cooler air. Highs on Thursday will be in the mid to upper seventies. Another front moves in on Friday to round out the work week. This will bring in more showers with highs in the lower seventies on Friday.
