Take a Closer Look at the Denver Nuggets' NBA Championship Rings
The Denver Nuggets have officially received their 2023 NBA Championship rings. Designed in collaboration with well-renowned jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills, each of the championship rings are customized to the players and theri number.
Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills said, "Every single time we do a championship ring, it has to tell a story. And not only the story of the organization, but the team, the season, the players, and most importantly, the city of Denver. And this ring is no different. It tells a robust story—lots of storylines, lots of easter eggs, and most importantly, lots of features in this ring." The Denver championship story is a unique one. Wanting to tell the story in its totality with "no stone left unturned."
The ring features two brand-new never-before-seen element. At the lever at the top of the ring, it changes the background of the ring along with key dates in the Nuggets history. Arasheben explained, "The face of the ring, for the first time in ring history, is interchangeable. Meaning you can change the color with just a switch of a lever. We have a lever that goes from 1967, the team's inception, to 2023, the championship year. Once you switch it over, it goes from blue sapphires to white diamonds on the face of the ring." The other feature sees a retractable compartment that unveils the official 2023 Denver Nuggets Championship banner.
The make of the ring features 16 carats of diamonds, rubies and blue sapphires to represent the Nuggets' franchise colors. The 16 carats represent the 16 postseason wins that it took for them to win the NBA championship. With different colored diamonds -- yellow and white -- and in varied shapes, each of he mare hand selected. At the face of the ring is the Larry O'Brien trophy with "NUGGETS" written with 24 points of yellow diamonds to represent the 24 years at Ball Arena. Other details include the iconic pickaxes on the team's secondary logo. The 89 rubies around the perimeter of the ring honor the 89 points the Nuggets held the Miami Heat to clinch the Game 5 championship victory.
