CLIP: Surfing Great Kelly Slater and Presidential Candidate Go Surfing in Hawaii

Celebs and surfers have been pairing up since, well, since surfers became celebs.

That's especially true on the North Shore where famous faces flock to for surf lessons and star-studded contest parties.

Yesterday's celeb and celebrity surfer pair to go surfing was Wee Man and surf legend Nathan Fletcher. Today, it's 11-time world champ and presidential hopeful, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., surfing the North Shore's Pua’ena Point.

Peter King first dropped the clip above last night, captioning it:@robertfkennedyjr teaching @kellyslatersome moves…#Happy70th"

The clip shows Slater and Kennedy paddling for a wave at Pua'ena Point, one of the North Shore's easier surf spots.

Both on longboards, they paddle for a wave together and Kennedy, pops up first. Once Slater's up, he busts out a selfie stick and snaps away, eventually hopping on Kennedy's board.

Tom Carroll, full of goofy-foot pride, commented: "Hahaha yesss he’s Goofy"

In his story, Slater reposted King's video and captioned it:

"What a pleasure to finally get a surf in with @robertkennedyjr this morning after knowing each other for nearly 20 years. He's more than comfortable in the surf and he showed me a thing or two!"

Slater and Kennedy also went shark diving with conservationist Ocean Ramsey, who posted her own clip here. He captioned his story:

"Full day today starting off with a shark dive hosted by @oceanramsey and @juansharks. Our Presidential Candidate @robertkennedyjr is a natural in the water and is all-around super fit. What a pleasure to spend the final day of his 69th year in the water with him and this crew in Hawaii."

According to his own Instagram post, Kennedy also got to meet Tahiti's Matahi Drollet, Australia's Barton Lynch, and the Big Island's Shayden Pacarro.
