It's easy to fall down the rabbit hole that is TikTok's #CleanTok. The plethora of cleaning videos showing off products and methods promising quick, easy results are nothing short of mesmerizing — even if you've only ever stocked a couple of the most basic products yourself.

With over 98.5 billion views, #CleanTok videos dive into every aspect of cleaning a home, from stain removal to refrigerator organization to steam cleaning. The more TikTok cleaning videos you watch, the more you'll start to notice the same cleaning products being praised over and over, leaving you wanting to try them for yourself. But if you're anything like us, you may be wondering if these TikTok cleaning hacks are actually as effective as they seem, or if it's a transformation brought to you by video editing.

To settle the score on which TikTok cleaning products actually work, we tapped the Good Housekeeping Institute's Home Care & Cleaning Lab. Executive Director Carolyn Forté and former Reviews Analyst Jodhaira Rodriguez weighed in on some of the most popular #CleanTok products to determine which ones are worth buying. Many of these viral products have been tested in the Cleaning Lab or come highly recommended by our experts; others are backed by brands we know and love; a few others, we determined worthy after scouring online reviews.

Floor ONE S3 Cordless Hardwood Floors Cleaner

CleanToker @AllisonsCleaning showed how efficiently this gadget can clean floors when she sucked up a fresh ketchup spill in an instant. But there's other data to back up this vacuum mop as a great pick for your cleaning arsenal. It has nearly 21,000 five-star reviews on Amazon and was named the easiest-to-clean vacuum mop by Good Housekeeping Institute experts earlier this year. The device has the suction of a traditional vacuum and the wet cleaning power of a top-rated mop. Our testers loved the smart sensor that automatically detects wet and dry messes and then adjusts suction and water flow accordingly. Because of this, it makes floors like-new clean without excess time or energy.

Pet Hair Remover and Reusable Lint Roller

Another handy item for those with pets, this top-seller has amassed a staggering 172,000+ reviews on Amazon. Use it as a pet hair remover or dust and lint. It's easy to operate: Simply roll it back and forth to lift hair right off couches, blankets and more — no need to change the roll. TikTok user @sarayahhernandez shows that it can be even more effective for removing pet hair from soft surfaces than a Dyson vacuum!

S1000 Steam Mop

Selected by GH as one of the best steam mops of 2023, this inexpensive steam mop has a removable water tank that makes for easy refilling. Our consumer testers loved how the mop snaps together and stores in the upright position, unlike other mops. It also has an 18-foot cord, so you don't have to keep stopping and starting to find a new outlet. This one has our Lab experts and #CleanTok creators impressed, especially for the value.

Car Cleaning Gel

When long days of deadlines and Zoom calls mean snacks are had at your desk, you'll be thankful to have this blue gel in your desk drawer. Simply roll the gel onto your keyboard to pick up dust and small particles. Like this TikTok shows, you can also use the stuff on car vents and other small crevices where dust gets lodged. There's no need to replace the gel with each and every use, either — you can continue to use the same gel until it changes colors.

The Pink Stuff

Aptly dubbed "The Miracle All Purpose Cleaning Paste," The Pink Stuff can be used on a variety of surfaces including porcelain, stovetops, countertops, metal, stainless steel and more. In one TikTok, user @cleanwithbukky used The Pink Stuff to eliminate burn marks from the bottom of a pan. The paste is available on its own or as part of The Pink Stuff cleaning bundle.

Damp Duster

Another Scrub Daddy product the TikTok universe can't get enough of? The brand's damp duster, which promises to clean everything from kitchen surfaces and air vents to bookshelves and photo frames. The handy little tool has already racked up more than 2.2 million TikTok views and counting. Our pros like that, with little more than water, it effectively lifts dirt and dust from hard-to-clean spots like slatted blinds and decorative molding. Rinsing is a little time-consuming, but definitely not a deal-breaker.

Little Green Cleaner

Whether you want to clean your couch or remove playroom stains like TikTok user @tipsandtricksfortots did in this review, the Little Green Cleaner continues to be a reliable choice for removing dirt and stains from upholstery, rugs, car interiors and more. Our GH Institute Cleaning Lab has tested this product several times and continues to find it a handy portable cleaner that's easy to maintain and stores away neatly. You can read our full review of the Bissell Little Green Cleaner, but we'll grant a few spoilers. Namely, in the Lab, we tested it with great success removing fresh and 24-hour set-in red wine, blueberry pie filling, spaghetti sauce, tea stains and more. You can even use it to clean your car.

Stop bending over to clean baseboards or standing on chairs to dust hard-to-reach corners. It's just harder to see, so we tend to ignore it. Fingerprints around door frames and light switches also need cleaning," says Forté. In a video with over 3.3 million views, one TikTok influencer shows this palm-sized vacuum sucking up a surprising amount of glitter — one of the most pesky messes. It's powered by two AA batteries and perfectly sized to pick up any remnants of lunch at your workspace, or the dust bunnies lodged in your keyboard, or even the small debris in your glove compartment.

Dish Soap Dispenser and Sponge Holder

Who doesn't love a multi-purpose, space-saving product — especially in a busy area like the kitchen. According to Amazon reviewers, this sponge holder is just as functional as it looks, stacking the soap and the sponge in one easy-to-reach locale. Users say it also dispenses the perfect amount of dish soap every time, making it easier to clean all of those dirty dishes. Simply place the sponge on top, press down and get to work.

Large Mega Floor Lint Roller With Ergonomic Handle

When one of our commerce writers first spotted this telescoping lint roller on TikTok, she said it was "love at first sight" — and not just because of the promise of lint-free clothes. She said it's a game-changer for lint-rolling dog hair from the couch, the rug, the chair and any flat surface within arm’s reach. On #CleanTok, the limit doesn't exist. Users share videos of themselves using the 2-in-1 tool to pick up glitter after a party, grab dust bunnies from beneath the couch, clear cobwebs from vaulted ceilings, prep the bathroom floor for mopping, remove crumbs from car interiors and sweep up shedding hair extensions.

EasyWring Microfiber Spin Mop

When it comes to mops, TikTok has a clear favorite: the O-Cedar spin mop, which is easy to use and keeps clean and dirty water separate. We also recently named it the best mop and bucket system in our roundup of the best mops. Just be sure to wring it out well if you are using it on hardwood floors. Luckily, one GH analyst who tested the product said it was easy to wring thoroughly so she was comfortable using it on her wood floors.

ONE+ 18V Cordless Telescoping Power Scrubber Kit

Though we haven't formally tested this telescoping scrubber, Ryobi products (including its handheld vacuum cleaner, which was a 2022 Cleaning Awards winner) have impressed our Lab experts before. The tool first went viral after one TikToker showed off its prowess for allowing you to scrub floors sparkling without squatting and scrubbing. The video has amassed more than 1.3 million likes and inspired a host of other CleanTokers to put it to the test. Our experts love that it comes with the rechargeable battery. When our testers used this battery with the vacuum, we got 14 minutes of cleaning on one charge and were impressed by the fact that it fully recharged in less than an hour.

Sponge Set

Shark Tank favorite Scrub Daddy has become a viral TikTok sensation and not just for the entertaining videos on the brand's own account. #CleanTok users reach for Scrub Daddy sponges to clean a variety of surfaces, from dirty dishes to greasy kitchen cabinets, as demonstrated in a video filmed by TikTok user @cleanthatup.

Soap Dispensing Scrub Brush

A dish brush? For your shower? Users are loving this TikTok cleaning hack that's as easy as leaving a soap dispensing dish brush filled with cleaning solution in your shower and using it to wipe down the walls or door while you're showering. GH's deputy editor swears by this trick for keeping her own shower clean, saying, "it's so much easier (and more convenient!) to keep mildew and soap scum at bay using this hack."

Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray

Earning the Good Housekeeping Seal, this Dawn dish spray wowed the GH Institute Cleaning Lab pros with its de-greasing power on both light grime and baked-on grease. Our Lab pros like that it saves water, too. You can skip your soaking routine and no water is needed for cleaning — only rinsing. Simply apply Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray directly to cookware and leave it for a few minutes. It's not just for cleaning dishes as user @malloryhudsonxo shares in a TikTok cleaning hack for scrubbing down microwaves with the help of Dawn Powerwash.

Powdered Cleanser

Bar Keepers Friend will be your friend, too. It's great for cleaning stainless steel, porcelain, ceramic and brass surfaces — but it's a mildly abrasive cleaner, so avoid delicate surfaces. Instead, use it to clean stubborn messes in your kitchen and bathroom as TikTok user @thecleanspace demonstrates in this video where a stained porcelain sink becomes white again. Rodriguez finds the stainless steel cleaner also works great on her sink faucets and our experts have long-touted it as the best stainless steel cleaner for pots and pans.

Power Toilet Bowl Gel Cleaner

This cleaner may require a bit of elbow grease when scrubbing the toilet, but for the price, it is still a top-rated toilet bowl cleaner. The angled neck bottle gets right under the toilet bowl rim and the dark blue cleaner clings to the bowl so it's also easy to see where it's applied. In tests, the combination of the solution and some scrubbing removed tough stains and left the toilet bowl sparkling. Plus, it claims to kill 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. TikTokkers even use it to clean grout and remove hard water stains.

Instant Carpet Spot Remover

It's all in the name. Chosen by the GH Institute cleaning experts as one of the best carpet stain removers, Folex acts quickly. Our testers were able to remove an old grease stain from a wool rug with visible results in seconds. While it appeared sudsy, blotting left no residue behind, so there was no need to rinse. Watch TikTok user @ravenelysetv remove a stubborn marker stain from the carpet with the help of Folex.

Dishcloths

Swedish dishcloths might just replace paper towels in your household. The absorbent cloths act like paper towels when drying up spills or wiping dishes clean. However, once they're dirty, you can clean them in the washing machine and reuse them over and over. This video from TikTok user @krysgier shows just how easy a Swedish dishcloth is to use.
