Being a skincare fanatic makes me obsessed with finding new products to perk up my cheeks and keep acne far, far away. With CBD and hemp moving onto skincare shelves, up-and-comer Wldkat CBD skincare has launched, already catching Gen Z’s eye — even during a pandemic. The brand’s entire ethos prides itself on using ingredients that won’t harm you or the planet. Plus, the packaging is made from post-consumer waste.

The Wldkat CBD skincare brand was established by CEO and founder Amy Zunzunegui, the woman behind the OG Urban Decay Naked palette. Even during a crisis, she maintained a different take on social responsibility in skincare and wanted the brand to be “as sustainable as possible.”

“We use as much post-consumer waste as possible because we believe it is better to use materials that were probably destined for the landfill to make new products,” Zunzunegui wrote in an Instagram post.

No, the products will not get you high. Head of product development Kendal Tardy explained in a video that out of the three most common types of CBD extracts discussed in skincare, the Wldkat brand uses broad-spectrum.

“Broad-spectrum comes right into the middle [of CBD isolate and full-spectrum] as it doesn’t contain any THC, but still contains other minor cannabinoids, flavonoids, and turbines.”

The brand also encourages shoppers to understand and educate themselves better on skincare instead of believing the buzziness that the word CBD holds in the skincare and wellness industries. But Wldkat CBD skincare is transparent in that when you select any of the products, it’s clearly stated if it contains CBD and the number of milligrams used.
