There was a good stretch during 2023 where Mason Ho and Clay Marzo were traveling and surfing together. For the rest of us that meant a solid flow of content pairing up two of the most entertaining surfers in the world today.

“From an entertainment standpoint, I think Mason is the most entertaining regular footer on the planet,” filmmaker and creator of the Snapt series Logan Dulien told The Inertia about their travels together. And I’d have to say Clay Marzo is the most entertaining goofy footer. Am I saying they’re the best regular footer or goofy footers? No, I’m saying entertainment-wise, as far as their approach to surfing, they’re just so creative.”

He calls Marzo The Last Samurai, which works for a guy who’s always been a bit of an enigma. The Maui surfer has world-class talent and there was a period of time when single clips of him surfing somewhere on his home island came few and far between. That’s shifted in the past couple of years and trips to Indonesia and Europe with Mason Ho in 2023 gave us a lot to watch.

Ho, on the other hand, pumps out content like nobody else in surfing. And one thing that stands out about the North Shore surfer’s growing online presence is that he’s not hosting a vlog or telling random stories in each individual YouTube video. He just surfs. And it’s always great. It’s something both Clay Marzo and Mason Ho may do better than anybody else, which is to just let their surfing do the talking.

So here the pair is back together again. This time they’re back in Europe with twin fins, entertaining the hell out of the rest of us.
