It’s Sunday evening, the snow is falling, there’s hot chocolate on the stove, the whole family is over, and everyone is just lounging around. This is some next-level nesting—no texting, emailing, or Snap allowed! In fact, this stage is set for an epic family game night.

If your game closet could use a little beefing up, though, today is the day to stock up. Amazon is selling all the board games you grew up loving—and a few new ones your kids and grandkids are crazy about—at discounts of up to 65 percent! Everyone is a winner with this Daily Deal.

The sale includes about 30 amazing contenders, and I’ve singled out the best of the bunch below.

Retro Series Clue 1986 Edition

Was it Miss Peacock in the lounge with a revolver? Professor Plum in the study with a rope? This Retro Series Clue game is a serious throwback, made to look exactly like the original 1986 edition right down to the card graphics, wood tokens, weapons, single die—and the board itself, of course. Take a trip down memory lane and save 40 percent, today only.

“Same old Clue game that I always loved. Done in the Library with a Candlestick by Colonel Mustard. Oh how I remember those wonderful days,” wrote one nostalgic customer. “The board and everything else is just the same and brings back fond memories. This is truly a classic. The price is an excellent value for the quality of this set.”

“Has been played several times since Christmas, and since we're all at the same table, there has been less text communication,” added another. “5 out of 5 stars.”

Rummikub - The Complete Original Game

Is it rummy? Is it mahjong? It's sorta both! (Photo: Amazon)

This cross between mahjong and rummy is a classic game to take on the road, thanks to a lightweight canvas bag that travels easily but manages to store four full-sized racks. This one is made for multiple generations to play together, and it’s more than just fun—it’s educational, reinforcing STEM skills like sequencing, pattern recognition, and planning. Also, it’s almost 30 percent off.

“Great game for the whole family,” wrote one shopper. “My son started playing at age 8 or so with no problems. He is really good at it too! great for confidence building. I love this game because it doesn't take FOREVER (like monopoly)...so you could play several rounds in a sitting so that more than 1 person has a chance of winning! Large numbers great for older folks. We have 2 sets so that we can play with larger groups (6-8 people at a time).”

Spinner: The Game of Wild Dominoes

This beloved game is like dominoes with an edge—and hundreds of five-star reviewers agree it’s “so much fun” for the entire family. The premise is simple: the same domino rules apply, but this set contains 11 extra “spinner” dominoes that are essentially wild cards. A cute retro tin makes this one a go-to last-minute gift, too.

“My grandchildren adore this game because they love math. It could even make a math lover out of a mathophobe!” wrote one game lover. “A favorite with grownups of all ages too. It's a new twist on dominoes.”

Such a fun game for the whole family,” wrote another. “I love that you can play with a few players or with a while big group!! Great for parties to get everyone involved . Easy to understand.”

You may not know this one, but the kids in your family certainly will! The characters are inspired by classic playing cards, but they’re a little bit sleepy—and the goal of the game is to wake up the most queens. It takes a little strategy, a little luck, and a lot of laughter for kids ages 8 and up.

“My 6 and 8 year old girls love this game, they play it with the kids in their play group and everyone bought their own game as well. It is addictive,” wrote one happy parent. “Great for boys and girls of all ages. Very cute and easy for kids to understand, also teaches math and has strategy. Very fun for the whole family! I would highly recommend!”

“Because my kids play this game so much, we keep wearing out the cards!” another chimed in. “My 4, 7, and 9 year old can play together as long as siblings give her a little help. It's actually fun to play as an adult too, unlike some other kid games. The anniversary tin is the way to go-it has extra queens that the regular version doesn't have.”

Left foot yellow, right hand red! What’s a retro game night without some pretzel-posing courtesy of Twister? Give the board a spin and watch your family get all tangled up in the fun. Who’s the best contortionist of the crew? Only time will tell!

“This is the classic game I grew up with. Sturdy plastic mat. My Grand daughters (7,8) love this game. We keep it at my house and every time they come over they want to play it,” wrote one customer. “They always want me to play, but I have to explain that if Grandma tried to bend and twist like that she would break! So I spin and they contort. Can't go wrong with this.”

Guess Who? Board Game

Rounding out the top five is a personal favorite of mine: Guess Who? An emblem of any ‘80s kid’s childhood, this board game is a whimsical way for children to sharpen their memory, listening, and facial recognition skills. Players ask and answer questions to solve the mystery of which character their opponent has picked. Today, this classic is half off.

“Five and eight year old granddaughters love this game...as did our own children growing up,” wrote a happy shopper. “Adults can play with them and it's entertaining enough for everyone. Use this game as a tool to teach strategic thought in the process of elimination...even the five year old actually ‘gets it!’”
