Amazon shoppers are loving these crystal-clear face shields — and they're great for double masking

Face shields have earned a devoted following since the pandemic began. And while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention doesn't recommend their use without a face mask underneath, there are plenty of people out there who swear face shields offer next-level protection.

Now, there's a new form of face shield that's specially designed to protect your nose and mouth—and it's perfect for double masking. It's called the Clarity Mask face shield and it's $25 at Amazon right now.

Throw out all preconceived notions you have about face shields—this is completely different. The Clarity Mask features a clear silicone form that fits snuggly over your nose and across your cheeks. It's secured in place by folding earpieces that slip on and off of your ears like glasses. There's no elastic to fiddle with and no messing with your hairstyle—just slip it on over your mask and you're good to go.

Clarity Mask is also incredibly lightweight—it basically floats on top of your face—making it easy and comfortable to wear over your go-to mask. The mask is also easy to clean.

Reviewers love the Clarity Mask. "It is comfortable to wear and did not fog up my glasses," one fan wrote. Another gave Clarity Mask props for how easy it is to use and wear. "I can put it on and remove it just like a pair of glasses," says the fan.

A fellow five-star reviewer joked that it's like "walkin' the runway" when wearing the mask in New York City, with people asking where it's from. "I get stopped about three or four times in a 30 minute span.... NO JOKE!" they wrote.

Again, the Clarity Mask alone doesn't meet the CDC's criteria for a protective face covering. But, if you're looking for a stress-free, comfortable way to double up on your protection, or just want to extend the life of your favorite disposable masks, it's a good way to go.
