The charming Clarissa Molina makes her living bringing joy into our lives: She’s the pop-culture correspondent on Univision’s smash daytime news show El Gordo y la Flaca (The Scoop and the Skinny). A one-time Miss Dominican Republic, Molina—who also won last year’s Look Who’s Dancing competition on Univision—is now a reporter, tastemaker, and TV host.

Though she, and we, have been sorely missing Molina’s in-studio appearances during the pandemic, we were lucky enough to snag a (remote) chat. She took the time to turn us on to some of the unique, clever products that have been keeping her sane, healthy, and gorgeous during quarantine. A dose of fun, charm, and great ideas—just what we all need right now. Here are Molina’s current favorites.

Sure, you have plenty of time these days to paint your nails, but it’s so hard to get them perfect. Molina has a trick: Ohora peel-and-stick nail strips. “I found these online, and they’re amazing,” Molina says. The strips are available in a kaleidoscopic array of hues and patterns (seriously, check their web page—we’ll wait). “I started trying different colors and a lot of people saw them and were, like, ‘Oh my God, I love your nails!’ They were posting pictures of them online!”

Essential oils are magic. How else to explain their ability to sharpen the mind, soothe the soul, even make a stomach ache disappear. “I love them,” Molina says, pointing specifically to the brand Young Living, which makes earth-based, planet-friendly products. “I use them to sleep, to help my immune system, to digest—and they’re all natural” Dab ’em on, diffuse them throughout a room, add them to a bath and inhale. Abracadabra—everything is suddenly a few notches better.

With the double-whammy of dry indoor heat and harsh winter winds, rich moisturizer is critical right now. Molina’s pick? Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream.

“I love it because it’s not sticky,” says Molina.“Your skin absorbs it really well.” This Neutrogena hybrid (yes, it’s a gel and a cream) is powered by hyaluronic acid, famed for sealing in moisture. Another plus: no dicey parabens.
