Clare Crawley is here to remind you that celebs are people too. The former Bachelorette shared a vulnerable post on Instagram, explaining how she’s handling the backlash she’s facing ever since quitting her season to leave with front-runner Dale Moss. Dale popped the question on live TV before they ran away together, leaving the rest of her contestants stunned. Even though Clare and Dale are doing well, some people are still passing judgment on the couple.

“Hi. It’s me, Clare. Not Clare that you have seen edited on your television or social media squares. But the human one with feelings, insecurities, emotions, and a normal life just like you,” she wrote. “And just like you, I’m going through things, big and small, that all of us experience at some point or another. Just like some of you I can be shy and awkward or even fighting off my anxiety the best I can that day. There are good days and bad days.”

She continued, “Being on reality TV doesn’t exempt me (or any of us) from that. I will always do my best to rise above the negativity and find the positive, but I am not superhuman. So when you choose to pass judgments without knowing someone personally or even something as small as a snide comment, please remember just like you, I am simply trying my best ❤️.”

Ever since Clare left her season, Bachelor Nation fans have been critical of her decision. After Clare met Dale, she told Chris Harrison that she thought she met her husband and they got engaged weeks later. “My question would be to the people that are saying that—to the people that question it—what exactly is the formula for falling in love?” she told Us Weekly regarding the criticism that they moved too fast. “Is there one way to do it? Is there one example of this is how it’s done?”

There isn’t. So let Clare live, pls.
