From Harper's BAZAAR

Outlander Season 5 has been woefully lacking the usual abundance of Claire + Jamie sex scenes, but the droughtlander ended in a barn this week, and the horse who witnessed it all go down will truly never be the same. On top of that good time, Claire and Jamie hatched a plan to take down Stephen Bonnet, and Murtagh crashed Jocasta's wedding to declare his love. In other words, we have even more to discuss than usual.

A Plague of Locusts Swarm Fraser's Ridge

Time to check in on our buddy Roger! There's no denying that this poor guy hasn't had the best of luck since arriving in the 18th century—but this week, Roger gets a win thanks to a swarm of locusts descending on Fraser's Ridge. The entire community's crops are at risk, but—thanks to remembering an old story from his childhood—Roger brings everyone together to fill the fields with smoke, saving the day in the process. Wow, Roger for President 2020 1771, to be honest.

Murtagh Crashes Jocasta's Wedding

You know how Jocasta's getting married to Duncan Innes? Well, it's pretty clear that she isn't in love with her future husband due to still being hung up on Murtagh, man who has truly terribly timing.

Despite having had ample opportunity to tell Jocasta how he feels, Murtagh shows up the night before her wedding, gets down on one knee, and asks Jocasta to wait for him. It's honestly a pretty romantic moment for those of us Jocastagh fans, but sadly these two just aren't meant to be. Jocasta turns Murtagh down, explaining that her late husband's love of the Jacobite cause ended up getting all of her children killed. We actually see this tragedy unfold in a flashback towards the beginning of the episode, when Jocasta and her family get stopped by redcoats and her daughter dies in the ensuing scuffle. Jocasta explains that she already fell for a man who risked it all for the Jacobite cause, and everything was taken from her as a result. Heartbreaking, not to mention a huge disappointment for Murtagh, but something tells me we haven't seen the last of this couple.

Claire and Jamie Have Makeup Sex in a Barn, Hatch a Plan

So, a lot happened during Jocasta's wedding festivities—mostly thanks to Mr. Wylie, a arrogant society man who a) loves himself some face powder, and b) happens to be doing shady business with Stephen Bonnet. As soon as Claire discovers this fact, she's attempts to negotiate a deal with Wylie so she can get access to Bonnet, which, sure! Solid plan! But due to the fact that Wylie is the worst, he makes a move on Claire while showing her his prized horse, and she ends up shoving him in a pile of manure. Naturally, Jamie just happens to walk in right at this moment and threatens to kill Wylie—which doesn't exactly put them in the best position to do faux business with him.

So, why do Claire and Jamie get into a fight? In an attempt to do damage control, Jamie suggests that he makes a bet with Wylie: If Jamie wins, he gets Wylie's horse; if Wylie wins, he gets Claire's wedding ring from Frank. Naturally, Claire is super hurt and upset at this proposition, but Jamie wins the bet and they end up having makeup sex in the horse stable after she slaps him. I mean ... the whole "sex while surrounded by manure" thing doesn't seem super hygienic, but I'll take what I can get because this has been an extremely PG season.

So ... What About Bonnet?

Obviously, winning a fancy horse isn't going to help Jamie and Claire track down Bonnet. So Jamie tells Wiley he can keep the horse—if he negotiates a meeting with Bonnet under the pretense of Jamie selling whiskey. What could go wrong? Oh wait, everything. For starters, Bonnet finds out that Jemmy (who he believes is his son) is the new heir of River Run. But to make matters worse, the episode ends with Lord Tryon telling Jamie they're going to war with the Regulators after all, which means Murtagh's life could once again be at stake.
