City Parks and Rec to host outdoor events this weekend

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso’s Parks and Recreation is inviting the community to two family-friendly events on Saturday, May 4.

“Kids to Parks Day” is a national day for children to enjoy the outdoors, according to the news release by the City.

The event will feature activities for the whole family to enjoy and will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lomaland Park, located at 715 Lomita Dr.

“Neon Fitness Dance” will be in celebration of National Fitness Day, and the event will feature a glowstick dance party, live music and health and wellness booths.

Co-hosted by Live Active El Paso, “Neon Fitness Dance” will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be at Eastwood Park, located at 3110 Parkwood St.

Live Active El Paso is a citywide community group that promotes health and wellness by encouraging El Paso residents to participate in physical activities, improved nutrition and mental wellness, according to the City.
