City of La Grande accepting nominations for spring beautification awards

LA GRANDE — The city of La Grande is currently seeking nominations for its spring beautification award, a recognition bestowed by the La Grande Community Landscape and Forestry Commission.

The award aims to honor individuals and organizations committed to enhancing the visual appeal of La Grande's landscape through exemplary maintenance and innovative design, stated an announcement from the city. The awards celebrate both residential and commercial properties.

Properties eligible for consideration must be visible from public access points and demonstrate excellence in various criteria, such as the integration of colors and textures, the judicious use of hardscapes, effective space utilization, resource conservation practices, provision of wildlife habitat, seasonal diversity and even food production.

Nominations for the spring beautification awards can be submitted online via the BAP Nomination form on Google Forms or by contacting the Urban Forestry Division at 541-663-1952. The deadline for nominations is May 25.
