Cindy Crawford Was Scared Of Looking 'Frumpy' In Front Of Prince William

You’d think that being a world-famous supermodel would be enough to alleviate any fears about how you look, but Cindy Crawford has admitted that she was terrified of looking “frumpy” in front of Prince William when Princess Diana invited her to Kensington Palace.

The 49-year-old visited the royal family when William was still a teenager, and she has reflected on the momentous moment in a new interview and recalled some startling revelations.

Explaining that she was desperate to project the appropriate image, Cindy explained: “I was like, ‘What do I wear?’ because Diana had a teenage son and I didn’t want to be too frumpy, but this was Kensington Palace and I wanted to be invited back.”

Prince William famously had a crush on the iconic supermodel and Cindy also revealed that she was stunned when Princess Diana called her assistant personally to invite her to visit when she was next in London.

Cindy added to Hello! magazine: “She was so lovely because she actually called my office herself. She said, 'Hi, it’s Princess Diana’ and my assistant was like, 'Yeah right’. But it actually was.

"I was going to London to do a thing for Pepsi, so I arranged to meet them at Kensington Palace. It was cool for me.”

Diana, who was married to Prince Charles, tragically passed away in a car accident in August 1997.
