Cindy Crawford Shows off Her Abs and Explains Why She Loves Posing Nude

Cindy Crawford, who is 53, just posed for a Porter Edit spread and she looks phenomenal.

In the photos, Crawford shows off her long legs and gorgeous abs. She also talked about her modeling career. “You would hope that some of your body of work over 30 years has some kind of staying power. But I keep wanting to do new stuff just to keep myself interested,” she says in the interview. “It’s less inspiring when you’re trying to re-do old pictures of yourself. I just want to be around interesting people. That’s worth it for me.”

Crawford also opened up about posing naked, which she recently did in photographer Russell James’ new book, Angels. “He asked me how I wanted to be photographed. You could be as free or as not free as you wanted,” she says.

“Part of the reason I wanted to do it was that I thought, at what age is being naked not beautiful anymore? Is there a sell-by date on us? I don’t look the same as I did at 20, 30 or even 40. If we take care of ourselves, why not?

Crawford says Russell tapped “into that real place-not high heels, not a lot of makeup, not coy, just a real woman who doesn’t have clothes on.”

Of course, she has posed naked before. She did two Playboy spreads-one in 1988 and another in 1998-and says she now regrets not posing naked more. “I look back at some of my old Playboy pictures and I think, ‘Why wasn’t I walking around naked all the time?’” she says. “I’m not getting younger. So I want to celebrate who I am today.”

Crawford has made it pretty clear on social media that she works hard for her body. According to an interview with The Cut in 2017, she's big on cardio-but she loves to switch up her routine. “Sometimes the cardio is jumping on a trampoline, using a treadmill or elliptical, or running,” she said. “We have stairs going down to the beach from our house. I put on an audiobook or music while I run the stairs at my house for 20 minutes.” She also tends to follow up her cardio workout with weight training. And, once a week, she'll do hikes with her girlfriends.

Cindy also often shares videos and pictures of herself breaking a sweat and gives shoutouts to her trainer Sarah Perla.
