Cindy Anthony and her husband, George, were propelled into the public eye after they conducted a nationwide search for their two-year-old granddaughter, Caylee Anthony, who had disappeared in July 2008. The search came to a tragic end when Caylee's dead body was discovered in a wooded area near the family's home in Florida that December. Casey Anthony, Cindy's daughter, and Caylee's mother was later arrested in connection to the disappearance and murder of the toddler. According to Nielsen, nearly 40 million viewers tuned in to watch Casey's murder trial in 2011. She was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges on July 5, 2011, but she was found guilty on four counts of lying to police.

Casey is preparing to tell her side of the mysterious case in a new three-part docu-series on Peacock entitled Casey Anthony: Where The Truth Lies. She recently accused her father of sexual assault and even accused him of murdering Caylee. As new details about the series surface, there's renewed interest in Casey's life, the relationship she shares with her parents, and who truly is responsible for Caylee's death. Read ahead for everything we know about where Cindy Anthony is now.

Does Cindy Anthony believe Casey killed Caylee?

In 2017, both Cindy and George Anthony appeared on Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen, where they discussed several things, including whether or not they truly believed Casey was responsible for Caylee's death. "No, I don't think. I truly honestly don't think she killed her," Cindy said. "I don't know if it was an accident or what happened. I don't know if Casey got distracted and Caylee drowned in the pool."

Show host Chris Hansen asked Cindy her reaction when Casey's attorney Jose Baez used a theory of George possibly drowning Caylee in their family pool as a defense during the trial. "No, the day that Jose told me that he had known about the drowning [theory] for a long time. My reaction was what the hell, why didn't you just come and tell us this from the very beginning? We wouldn't have had to go through three years of all this aggravation. We wouldn't have looked six months for her."

When was the last time Cindy Anthony saw her daughter, Casey?

In the same Crime Watch Daily interview, Cindy opened up about the relationship she shared with her estranged daughter. "She checked on me a couple of months ago," Cindy said. "She called to check on me because she had heard I was in the hospital. I mean, I'm still her mom."

The mother of two also discussed the last time she saw her daughter. "The last time I saw her was just before Christmas, the week before Christmas, last year," she said. "Well, it was weird, the first time I saw her when she got out of the car for the first time, and I saw her, I stood there for a second, and I just wanted to do one of two things: I wanted to just embrace her, and I wanted to smack her, that's how I felt inside. I wanted to hit her for everything," the bereaved grandmother said. "I wanted to shake her, I wanted to say, 'What the hell did you do for all these years?'"

Where is Cindy Anthony now?

Cindy lives in Florida with her husband, George. Most recently, she appeared on the premiere episode of Investigation Discovery's Crime Scene Confidential with Alina Burroughs, where she revisited the defense theory that Caylee drowned. "What the eff was she thinking?" Cindy asked. "Why the heck didn't she tell us? Why didn't she call somebody? None of this would've happened. And it's like, oh my gosh, she put us through hell. I know if I had found Caylee drowned in the pool, I would've been devastated and blamed myself for the rest of my life."
