Martial arts legend Chuck Norris turned 84 years young this week, ringing in his latest milestone on Sunday, March 10. And the action film star proved that age really is nothing but a number in a video message to fans in which he showed just how spry he is well into his 80s.

"Feeling good and staying active! Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes," Norris captioned the video, in which he sparred with a kickboxing bag from a scenic location on a hill overlooking the ocean. "You know, I may be 84 today, but I feel like I'm 48," he jovially said into the camera.

Of course, staying active is crucial to looking and feeling as good as Norris does at his age. In an interview with the Reader's Digest brand The Healthy last August, the then-83-year-old revealed his secrets to healthy aging.

"I’m grateful to feel strong, healthy, and energized. I don’t see age as a reason to slow down—if anything, it’s given me an opportunity to renew my commitment to fitness and nutrition," he explained. "I make sure to add movement whenever I can each day and fuel my body with nutrients that have helped me feel younger than ever."

"Prioritizing fitness and nutrition allows me to be more active with my loved ones, and a healthy body will offer me many happy years with them," he continued. "Exercising with my family is a meaningful experience; my children are just as passionate about martial arts as I am. They are incredibly talented, too. So, engaging with your friends and family in these physical activities is another piece of my 'wisdom' for longevity. I’ve always said, 'A family that trains together stays together.'"

And with five children and at least 13 grandchildren, it goes without saying that Norris has got plenty of inspiration to keep him going throughout his 80s and beyond.
