Chromat Teamed Up With Reebok on a Collection of Sneakers
Your summer sneakers have arrived courtesy “future-forward” swimwear brand Chromat and the iconic sneaker giant Reebok. The collaboration — which features brightly colored Sole Fury sneakers in hot pink, teal, and white — just dropped on Chromat’s website, and we want all three pairs, like, now.
The collaboration, Chromat’s first-ever collab with a footwear brand, is inspired by the neon colors and tropical vibes of Miami and was first seen on Chromat’s AW19 climatic runway show, which sent a message of both the city’s beauty and the effects of climate change, plus the fashion industry’s impact on global sustainability. The collection was made to take you from your “South Beach workout to your sunset cruise,” and the Sole Fury sneakers are the perfect partner for any beach activities you may embark upon or daydream about come winter. Imagine how fresh and fun they’ll feel on a dreary February day!
Featuring a lightweight, breathable mesh upper and a trendy “sock-like” fit, the Sole Fury sneakers are statement-making, stylish, and comfortable, meant to take you from the gym to the beach to dinner. The hot pink pair features red faux-leather detailing and black and white laces, while the white pair really pops, thanks to hot pink laces. All three would look amazing with your favorite Chromat swimsuit or your Monday morning “going to class” casual looks.
The campaign features three Miami icons sporting the sneakers, including dancer and drag performer Rae Woods, community organizer and Fempower founder Helen Peña, and athlete and student Ine Collins. The models look strong, beautiful, and confident in their Chromat swimwear and Reebok shoes, which is part of Chromat’s mission: to showcase diverse models that you may not traditionally see on the runway or in major ad campaigns. Just seeing Rae, Helen, and Ine in their shoes makes us want to nab a pair for ourselves immediately.
The sneakers retail for $120 and run a half-size small. The collection of sneakers and suits is available now on Chromat’s website, just in time for the last month of summer or your next Miami vacay. Additional pairs will be available on Reebok.com later this month.
