Christine Quinn shares upsetting details of 'traumatising' emergency C-section
In May, Selling Sunset's Christine Quinn and her husband, Christian Richard, welcomed their first child into the world, a boy named Christian Georges Dumontet.
At the time, realtor royalty Christine told fans that she'd been taken into theatre for an emergency caesarean and said she would consider sharing more of her birth story later on. "One day I might share more about what happened, but for right now, I am humbled and grateful that three of us came home from the hospital," she told PEOPLE.
It seems that now, Christine is comfortable to talk about her difficult experience of bringing baby Christian into the world, as she's detailed her emergency C-section on Instagram, telling fans she and her son are lucky to be alive.
"I am not often publicly vulnerable, as I feel the responsibility to put on a brave face, despite still feeling at the time hopeless, terrified, and to this day traumatized. Both myself, and baby Christian are lucky to be alive," Christine said alongside some very sweet family pictures to mark the little one's two-month birthday.
Christine then explained that her waters broke while she was taking part in filming and she was taken to hospital already nearly fully dilated and hyperventilating from extreme pain.
At this point in the story, Christine explained, things became frightening very quickly.
"I was immediately rushed in to an emergency crash C-section due to both our heart rates instantly plummeting. Baby C's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. Baby C was seconds away from not making it," she said.
"The surgeons didn’t even have time to count their tools before stitching me up as I was flatlining. They ran me through the X-ray machine immediately after surgery to ensure there was no remaining tools left in my body. I am so grateful for the doctors and surgeons that saved BOTH of us," she added.
While the experience was no doubt terrifying for Christine and her partner, it sounds like she's now able to took back on it and feel grateful for the happy outcome.
"I thank God everyday for my blessings, and my miracle baby. Always remember life is too short and grudges are a waste of perfect happiness. Let go of what you can, and take chances. Give everything and have no regrets. Life is too short to be unhappy," she said.
