Christina Hendricks is overcoming her fears one day at a time.

The 48-year-old actress recently went out of her comfort zone while taking a plunge in the Irish Sea, despite her longtime fear of the ocean.

Taking to social media to document the "exhilarating" experience, Hendricks proved to her followers—and herself—that she can do anything she sets her mind to, even if it involves jumping off the rocks into rough waters.

In the new photos shared to Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 28, the Good Girls alum could be seen letting go of all her fear, ending up completely submerged in the water—and from the looks of it, it appears to have been quite the experience.

"Those of you who know me well, know I have a fear of the ocean," Hendricks began her caption. "But bigger than that fear, is the fear of not doing something extraordinary because I’m too scared."

"So, I decided I would go to the 40 ft. [sic] In Dublin and jump into the Irish Sea," she continued, before going on to detail the literally breathtaking experience.

"Before I could take my own steps, the ocean, in one dramatic wave, grabbed me from this rock and through me under, scraping my leg, plunging me under water with a mouth full of salt water as I was gasping for breath and then pummeling me over and over again with waves that made it almost impossible to swim back to land," she explained, while noting, "But I did it."

"And it was exhilarating," the Mad Men actress asserted. "I survived."

Plus, she teased she "might even do it again," though she will admittedly have to employ some "better planning next time," to avoid the whole wave-pulling-her-under fiasco.

But regardless of the challenges, Hendricks insisted, "I’m proud of myself." She even included a photo of a rainbow arched over the water after the plunge, which seems to be the perfect symbol for her thrilling yet inspiring day.

Hendricks' followers were definitely proud of her too, including one person who commented, "What a way to conquer your fear!!"

"Wow!! Good for you," added another.
