Apparently women can’t eat a meal or just choose not to suck in their stomachs for a photo without being questioned about being pregnant. At least this is the case for HGTV Flip or Flop star Christina Hall who is 40 years old and gorgeous. Hall innocently posted a black and white family photo with her three kids and husband Josh Hall, and an Instagram user commented that they could see a baby bump “peeping through her dress” in the photo.

Christina responded in the comments with an eye-roll emoji, “no- it’s called not sucking in my tummy after having 3 kids.” Her husband Josh also chimed in when another fan said, “2024 brings baby #4,” and he bluntly responded, “No shot.” He added that three children was enough for them, but they may get another pup.

Thankfully, many folks in the comments came to Christina’s defense as well. And one fan totally hit the nail on the head. “Geez some of these comments are sad. And a few months ago, ‘she was too skinny and needed to eat and get help.’ Now y’all are saying ‘she looks like she’s having baby #4.’ Please just STOP! It’s so sad women, and people in general, are judged so much!”

This fan is absolutely correct. Better not be too thin or you have an eating disorder. And when celebrity women show any sort of curves or bumps, there is always that one person who “sees a baby bump,” and begins pregnancy rumors. It feels like it’s been this way since the beginning of the paparazzi. Take Jennifer Anniston for instance. She took the constant rumors over the years very personally and said they were hurtful and nasty.

“It’s like, ‘You have no clue what’s going with me personally, medically, why I can’t … can I have kids?’” she explained in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “They don’t know anything, ”she said. Jennifer struggled with infertility for years, according to the article.

Another example is Natalie Portman, who called out the New York Post’s subsidiary outlet Page Six back in 2021 who ran an article alleging she was pregnant. All it took was for a stranger to take a photo of her running errands and her stomach wasn’t completely flat. Portman took to social media and said, “Hey, so I’m totally not pregnant. But apparently it’s still OK in 2021 to speculate and comment on a woman’s body shape whenever they want? Do better @nypost.”

Kourtney Kardashian also had to defend her curves after having three kids. She too clapped back and said, at the time in the comment section of her post, “This is me when I have a few extra pounds on, and I actually love it … I have given birth three amazing times and this is the shape of my body.”

Bumps, curves, and shape aren’t always babies, people. And thankfully, celebrities are finally clapping back on those unsolicited pregnancy announcements. Always follow the golden rule: The only time to ever comment on someone’s pregnancy is after they have told you they’re pregnant. And even then, you better only be saying congratulations.
