Christie Brinkley Shows Photos of How Fashion Icon Iris Apfel Celebrated 102nd Birthday in Style

Christie Brinkley paid tribute to Iris Apfel in honor of the fashion icon's 102nd birthday.
On Aug. 29, the supermodel penned a poem on Instagram for the legendary New York City-based interior designer. "Happy Birthday to Iris! She’s 102 and she’s got more style Than me and you! She the Queen of fashion who gets better every year And todays her birthday did you hear?," wrote Brinkley.
Her message continued, "She’s got her trademark glasses and a wardrobe of fun and we wish her every happiness under the sun. She’s smart snd savvy snd [sic] extremely witty and she wants everyone to know that individuality’s always pretty, that we should all be ourselves one of a kind. Good advice like that’s hard to find so thank you Iris for all you do. To say to people 'you do you!' (Like you do so well! )."
The 69-year-old ended her post by writing, "Happy Birthday Iris! We LOVE YOU!"
Brinkley accompanied her celebratory note with carousel of photos and videos from Apfel's intimate birthday dinner at Tutto il Giorno. In addition to the model, Alexa Ray Joel, her daughter with Billy Joel, was in attendance, as well as famed designer Donna Karan.
In one video, Brinkley sings "Happy Birthday" while Apfel waves to the camera. In another, the birthday girl opens her present from Karan, which turns out to be a gold-plated statement necklace. Brinkley helped Apfel change from her sparkling diamond necklace to her new gift. Though it's a big piece of jewelry, Karan told the camera that it's "weightless."
