The model also used the opportunity to share an important message about respecting nature's beauty.

It may not be Earth Day, but that didn't stop Christie Brinkley from sharing a sweet note with fans, reminding them to take care of the planet's beautiful, natural amenities.

The supermodel took to social media to admire an absolutely fabulous sunset she recently caught from the beach.

With the sand beneath her toes and wind blowing her hair, Brinkley, 69, pucked up for a selfie, posing in front of a cotton candy sunset with vibrant hues of pink, orange, blue and purple coloring the scene.

"The magnificent sunset tonight was like 10 different sunsets all rolled into one," Brinkley exclaimed in the caption before continuing, "Swipe to see some of the varity [sic]… As usual I made a wish on the first star I saw tonight for peace on earth. ✨✌🏼⭐️."

The three-time Sports Illustrated cover girl concluded her statement with a message preaching gratitude and respect, "PS Let’s all take extra good care of our beautiful Mother Earth."

Her sentiment (and flawless selfie) were met with much love from fans and friends in the comments who gushed over the dreamy snaps.

Brinkley's daughter Alexa Ray Joel, whom she shares with ex-husband, and the "Piano Man" himself, Billy Joel, lovingly quoted "Christie Lee"–the song her father wrote about her mother in 1983–in the comments, "Christie Lee, Christie Lee / She’s the starry gal that they all wanna see / Shiny sweetness laid in rows of sunflower hair / When she’s in their sights, nobody can despair.✨🌟"

Actor Chuck Zito also chimed in, "Awesome 👍😉🤗."

While the exact location of the photos remains a mystery, Brinkley does tend to frequent Long Island's famed East End, where she's learned to call the Hamptons home. From the looks of the roaring waves and white sand beaches, the pictures were likely snapped somewhere on the south shore of New York City's beachfront backyard.
