Christie Brinkley Blasts 'Wrinkle Brigade' Criticizing Her Latest Selfie

Christie Brinkley shamed the haters nit-picking her Instagram selfies.

The 69-year-old model shared a statement blasting critics that share rude comments on her social media posts that feature candid photos of herself.

"Downtown Girl …Update: Whoa Nelly ! The Wrinkle Brigade is out in full force in the comment thread!" she began in the caption of a post shared to her Instagram grid on Wednesday, June 28.

"They are the people that scan celebrities pages, hoping to find some cellulite , wrinkles , or anything that they can point [to] critique," she said. "It must be [some] form of compensation for some thing [sic] they are lacking."

Though she turned the comments off for this particular post, she did include a shout-out to those who previously stuck up for her and battled it out with the naysayers in the comments. "But when those people appear, there are others who pop up with messages so kind and valuable. Those are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing! Thank you sweet souls."

"PS I don’t have hair on my chest obviously( I thought!) I phone has a tendency to create weird things in [the] shadow. But so what if I did?" she added, joking about the unfortunate shadow of her selfie, before concluding, "[Have] a great day My Friends !"

Brinkley is the latest in a series of stars that have either shut down haters or spoken out against the unnecessary, distasteful, and in some instances, abusive treatment they've received at the hand of fans–both online and in real life. Other celebs that have put the public's recent behavior on blast include Kelsea BalleriniChrissy Teigen, Luke Bryan, Megan Fox, Madonna and Jessie J, just to name a few.
