Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she would have given birth this week, four months after sharing the heartbreaking news that she lost her baby son, Jack, during pregnancy.

On September 30, Chrissy and her husband John Legend shared the incredibly difficult news that they'd lost their baby boy at around 20 weeks. Chrissy posted a series of black and white photos taken with Jack in the hospital, writing in a heartbreaking caption, "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before."

Now, four months after the family's terrible loss, the model and cookbook author shared an emotional tweet with fans, detailing her her grief one day before undergoing surgery for endometriosis.

"My little jack would have been born this week so I'm a bit off," Chrissy wrote. "I truly feel kicks in my belly, but it's not phantom. I have surgery for endometriosis tomorrow...but the period feeling this month is exactly like baby kicks. sigh."

In an accompanying and heart-wrenching video, Chrissy showed followers the kicks in her stomach as she emotionally told fans how the pain "never stops."

She went on to explain: "Look at this. I’ll pretend it’s him saying hi - it never stops."

Chrissy's incredibly brave openness and honesty about her unimaginably difficult experience has been a pillar of strength to so many experiencing the same painful journey.

Many fans thanked the model on Twitter and Instagram for opening up about her experience and starting conversations around a subject which has often been historically taboo.

Last month the model opened up about her constant grief every time she looks in the mirror. Sharing a mirror selfie on Instagram, Chrissy wrote: "This is me and my body, just yesterday. Even though I’m no longer pregnant, every glance in the mirror reminds me of what could have been."

In November, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend opened up abut their grief in an interview with Good Morning America. "I definitely gave myself permission to have complete and utter grief. Every day is different so when people ask me how I'm doing I say 'I'm ok, today'," Chrissy said.

John went on to address the insensitive criticism the couple had received as a result of sharing the images from the hospital from the day they lost Jack. "[Chrissy] felt like really, that one of the ways we would carry on Jack’s memory was taking pictures of that moment.

"The crazy thing about having a miscarriage, is you don’t walk away with anything, you have this emptiness," he explained. "And we wanted to take the photos so that we had something to remember."
