“I have the absolute best friends in the world. A small circle but if it were fifty times larger, I still wouldn’t feel the love I do every day,” she wrote on Twitter alongside a montage of her friends donating blood with the Red Cross. “7 bags donated for the 7 used for Jack.”

Teigen announced on Sept. 30 that she had miscarried after being admitted to the hospital a few days prior, where she was receiving blood transfusions. “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” Teigen wrote on Instagram. She then revealed that she and Legend were planning on naming the baby Jack. “So he will always be Jack to us,” she continued. “Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”

The 34-year-old published an essay on Medium on Tuesday, nearly one month after the miscarriage, in which she opened up even more about the heartbreaking experience. “People say an experience like this creates a hole in your heart,” she wrote in the piece. “A hole was certainly made, but it was filled with the love of something I loved so much. It doesn’t feel empty, this space. It feels full.”

On Sunday, a friend of the family, celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees, shared how she and six other friends showed support for Teigen and Legend by donating blood in honor of what was used to try to save Jack.

“Yesterday I was blessed to have 6 friends show up to help me put together a gift for my dear friends,” Kyees wrote. “What a beautiful experiance [sic]- I am so grateful for my amazing friends who helped me and donated !!! I learned alot about the process but most importantly I was told the blood supplies are low due to the pandemic. They have not been able to collect like they used to especially here in Los Angeles.”

Kyees went on to challenge followers to donate blood themselves and to encourage friends and family to do the same, while Teigen shared her own thoughts on donations being down. Most importantly, she shared her love for the people who donated specifically in her family’s honor.

”I’m overwhelmed by our circle of friends. The love I feel for each and every person in our circle actually makes me ache. @kimmiekyees, I’ve known you for so many years now. You know every story, you hear every life gripe, you’re amazing at what you do but the way you treat my kids and family is cherished always. To do something like this for baby jack is just...I dunno. Beautiful,” she wrote. “I am so proud of the people I surround myself and my family with.”

Teigen additionally shared how she honored Jack with a tattoo on her wrist of his name in cursive, accompanying her and Legend’s existing tattoos with the names of their children Luna and Miles.
