Chrissy Teigen Is All of Us Responding to News of President Donald Trump's Impeachment Proceedings

It’s no big secret that the political climate in our country is confusing right now at best (we won’t even get into what it is at its worst). So, Chrissy Teigen’s response to news of Trump’s impeachment proceedings is spot-on — and while you may be thinking that Teigen’s reaction would only resonate with one side of the party line, you might be surprised how much it makes sense no matter where your political loyalties lie.

In case you missed it, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called a surprise conference on Tuesday to announce that a formal impeachment inquiry had officially been launched against President Donald Trump. According to CBS News, this marks just the fourth time in American history when a president has faced a viable threat of impeachment. Although the speaker has reportedly been fielding calls for over a year to initiate the proceedings, the tipping point seems to have come this week. Trump’s administration is refusing to hand over a “whistleblower complaint” filed by an anonymous member of the intelligence community which was deemed an “urgent concern” by the intelligence community inspector general.

So, what does all that mean? Honestly, it’s a little mind-boggling trying to figure out heads from tails at this point. Which Teigen so eloquently summed up on Twitter, writing, “I don’t get it just call me when it’s over.”

One could argue Teigen is saying she wants to fast forward to the end of Trump’s presidency since she hasn’t exactly been shy about her opinion of him. Just this month, the two tangled on social media after the POTUS referred to Teigen as a “filthy-mouthed wife” (true to form, she responded with a few colorful qualifiers of her own).

But setting politics aside, it honestly just seems like Teigen is expressing the same core sentiment a lot of us feel right now. Bewildered. There’s no telling how this latest development will play out. However, it’s bound to be full of twists and turns that will leave most of us thinking what Teigen is saying: We don’t get it.
