Chrissy Teigen Undoing Her Braids Is My New Favorite ASMR Video

Whenever people talk about ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response), I'm always bewildered by what some say triggers that relaxed, tingly feeling. Watching someone paint? Meh. Whispering? The hardest pass. But thanks to Chrissy Teigen, I just discovered that my brain really loves watching a braid being unraveled into beautiful waves.

On Sunday, Teigen took to her Instagram Stories to post a mirror-selfie video in which she's wrapped in a white towel, husband John Legend and an Ariana Grande song in the background. Half of Teigen's hair is already down, but she shares with us the process of undoing the remaining Dutch braid presumably styled by Irinel de León, who's tagged in the post. She rapidly yet smoothly runs her fingers through the braid to release the interlaced strands.

Teigen closes her eyes and seems to relax as she reaches her head, and I totally get it. Releasing a braid and letting your scalp breathe is one of the best feelings in the world — as is seeing the results of wearing one for a while. Teigen smirks a bit as she sees the incredible beachy waves the braids have left behind. (Any pro — and even Selena Gomez — will tell you, sleeping in braids is an easy way to get a gorgeous wavy look.) The video has fully inspired me to sleep in braids tonight, but in the meantime, I've already gotten that a sense of relaxed satisfaction just from seeing Teigen take hers out.

Sadly, unless she puts it in her Instagram Highlights, the video may be gone by the time you read this because Instagram Stories live for only a day. But Chrissy, if you're reading this, I respectfully ask you to consider posting another braid-removal video to your grid — or, you know, dedicating an entire YouTube channel to the practice.
