Chrissy Teigen is a fan of shoes, as evidenced by her unabashed enthusiasm on Thursday at a brunch celebrating the launch of RAYE, a new shoe line from Alliance Apparel available exclusively on REVOLVEclothing.com. The model and Lip Sync Battle co-host is working with the brand as a continuation of her recent Revolve campaign (and probably as a way to get a lot of free heels). Teigen and her husband John Legend jetted back from the Met Gala in time for the brunch celebration, where the model eased her jet lag with some cocktails. Here, the model/host discusses social media, dealing with the Twitter haters, and how a mishap at LAX resulted in a cyber friendship with Kristin Davis.

Yahoo Style: Why did you want to collaborate with a new shoe line like Raye?

Chrissy Teigen: I’m at this point now where I have a lot of things thrown at me, but it’s who I enjoy working with and what I stand behind as a fan and what I actually love. I’m a huge online shopper. Revolve was something I always shopped on and always loved. They came to me to do this shoe line with them and be part of this powerful women’s program. I saw Hillary Kerr’s name [from Who What Wear] and got really excited. It felt like a really natural pairing. And, plus, I’m very simple when it comes to fashion, but I like to have a little pop here and there with a purse or a shoe. They encompass that. They make every outfit cooler instantly.

YS: A lot of women have trouble with shoes because they can be so uncomfortable. Do you think it’s worth the pain to look good?

CT: I actually don’t mind an uncomfortable shoe. I don’t care as long as they look great and feel good mentally. I can wear them and rip them off at the end of the night. I’m a shoe girl. It is nice to have that favorite pair that you can run to the airport in and always be on the move. That’s what I always am doing – running to the airport.

YS: Airport fashion is very important, too.

CT: I get photographed most at the airport!

YS: When you land are the photographers waiting for you?

CT: Yeah. Actually yesterday I landed from the Met Gala at LAX and I was with Kristin Davis on my flight. She could have not been more sweet to everyone on the entire flight. When you land you have a greeter because if you don’t you’re on your own when you get off the airplane. They meet you at the gate, walk you down, and make sure you get right into your car so you don’t have to deal with all the questions. So yesterday we got straight into the car and I’m sitting in there for a couple of minutes and Kristen gets into the car and says, “Oh, hi.” I was like, “Oh my God, am I in your car? I’m so sorry.” I had to get back out in front of all the photographers. I got out of the car and they’re all like, “Oh, you’re an idiot, Chrissy.” The airline people get paid to tip them off.

YS: It kind of seems on-brand for you to get in the wrong car.

CT: I know! Honestly. I was like, “This is my life.” But when I got in my own car I looked at Twitter on my phone and it said “Kristin Davis now follows you.” I was so excited. She wrote me the sweetest message.

YS: On the other side of the spectrum, what makes you want to address the haters when you get negative comments on Twitter?

CT: Some of them are just assholes. Some of them are just trying to be funny. And then some of them are truly crazy. You have to pick your battles, but you do lose it. I’ve lost it a million times. Any time I do a string of press in one day where I’m on morning shows and stuff, those aren’t the people who follow me on Twitter so they don’t get my personality. I get a lot of random comments. That’s when you want to leave Twitter. That’s the tough part.

YS: Everyone’s been talking about how cool it is that you Instagrammed a photo of your stretch marks. What inspired that?

CT: Women have been tagging me in their own photos, too. It’s really cool. I was just watching TV and I was enjoying a vodka soda. I was going to take a picture of all my bruises. Because I’m working on a cookbook and John and I are in a rental home here [in L.A.] and I have this new kitchen and I’m not used to it. I bump around the kitchen and get all these bruises on my inner thigh and my sides. So the whole idea of the photo was to take a picture of those bruises. I saw the stretch marks and I thought, “I could Facetune this or I could just not.” I just don’t care anymore. I threw it out there and it happened very quickly. People responded really well and they were really nice. I didn’t really get any mean comments, aside from a few boys that were like, “Ew, gross.” But they have no idea.

YS: Those boys have never seen a woman naked probably.

CT: They must not have. Because I work with supermodels every day and everybody has a stretch mark. Are you kidding me?
