Chrissy Teigen Says Daughter Luna Is Already Obsessed With Makeup and Nail Polish

With a makeup-mogul mom to show her the ropes, it's no wonder that Chrissy Teigen's two-year-old daughter Luna is already well on her way to becoming a baby beauty influencer. At Sephora's SEPHORiA Beauty Event in Los Angeles over the weekend, where she unveiled her latest collection with Becca Cosmetics, Teigen revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Luna has already started to take an interest in getting glammed up.

"Every single time I'm doing my makeup, I have to put her on the counter next to the sink, and we're doing it together," the Lip Sync Battle host shared. "She really loves [it]." And apparently, Luna's not just keeping her company — she's paying close attention to exactly what her mom is doing in front of the mirror. "She knows what each little tool is for, she knows that the brows go up, she knows certain brushes are for certain things, she knows where the lip gloss goes."

Luna's favorite beauty ritual has nothing to do with the face, however. "She's really obsessed with nails," Teigen tells ET. "She's, like, a manicure kind of gal." A few months ago, Teigen shared a video of husband John Legend painting his daughter's toes, fully embracing her love of nail polish. And on Sunday, the model posted another adorable video to her Instagram Story of little Luna expertly applying faux lipstick from a makeup playset. (It's worth noting that, at age two, the toddler is definitely already better at that than I am.)

It seems that Luna is learning to love beauty at a much younger age than her mom did. "When I was younger, I didn't really wear makeup until I moved to California, when I was like 17, and then all of a sudden, I wanted to have fun. And that was a fun time for me," Teigen told ET. "I look back and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh!' I made so many mistakes, but we all do that. We all look back and think that we were crazy. It's almost like a rite of passage for kids, and we all do it."

Luna isn't the only future beauty influencer within the celeb set these days. It's possible that she may be picking up some tips from Kim Kardashian West's daughter North West, who has already been honing her contouring skills at age five and may have a beauty vlogging career in her future. Teigen added that, although she's fully supportive of Luna's experimenting with beauty, she ultimately just wants her daughter to have fun and be true to herself. "Do things for you. Do what makes you feel good, don't do it to impress others or fit in this box for other people," she said. "I want her to, obviously, embrace her natural beauty, her natural face, her natural curls — she has this head full of beautiful curls and I want her to love that and embrace it."
