Chrissy Teigen's recent DNA test was a wild ride.

On June 4, Teigen took to Instagram to share her bizarre experience while checking her ancestry. "As some of you know, I've been on a bit of a journey for the past few years—but especially the past year—of health and wellness and trying to figure out a lot about my past, my family and typical stuff one is curious about" she said at the start of the video.

She explained that with the encouragement of her therapist and doctor, she decided to try 23&Me, popular DNA testing kit. Teigen noted that she'd previously done the test years ago, but had never "done a deep dive," just a "heritage thing."

However, after trying out 23&Me with the upgrade that offers more details, she was in for a shock: "I have an identical twin."

She showed a screenshot, in which the family tree listed a twin named "BB." Teigen decided to immediately write to the "twin" to get more information, displaying a screenshot of the message she sent "BB" which reads, "Hi! Apparently we are identical twins? lol."

She also asked customer support if it was possible that it was an app glitch, but didn't get any answers.

"Honestly, at this point I'm spiraling," Teigen continued. "I call my dad like, 'Hey, did you see me come out of mom's vagina and were there two of me?' He starts laughing and saying, 'No, I was there. There were not two of you.'"

She then decided to call her sister, Tina, to see if the sibling had more information on the alleged identical twin. While Tina's initial reaction—a gasp over the phone—had the model briefly convinced that her sister knew something, she soon had a revelation about the data. As Tina reminded Teigen, John Legend's wife appeared on PBS' Finding Your Roots, in which she took a DNA test under a secret name so details wouldn't be revealed ahead of the episode.

"You guys, this [episode] never aired [because] we never finished shooting it. My identical twin was myself. I was matching myself," she shared of her hilarious realization. She then showed a drawing she made of a gravestone for her "twin," "Sissy Teigen."
