Chrissy Teigen Just Apologized to Beyoncé for Being Awkward at Her Oscars After-Party

Chrissy Teigen was one of the many celebrities who attended Beyoncé's lavish Oscars after-party on Sunday night, February 9. She and John Legend looked so glam, naturally—but in true Teigen fashion, she had a relatable flub at the bash. Apparently, the Cravings author was so nervous about being in the same room as Queen B that she couldn't talk to her. She just stared.

"@Beyonce if there is any, any way you’re reading this please just know I stare at you and don’t talk because I am truly so nervous to say something stupid but we love you and thank you so much!!" Teigen captioned an Instagram video of herself and Legend the night of the party. See it for yourself, below.

Can you blame Teigen for having this reaction? For being in the same room as Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter and getting so overwhelmed you can't speak? For having all the words to "Bootylicious" swarm to your brain so intensely that you forget how to form sentences? I sure as hell can't. I'd do the same thing.

This isn't the first time Teigen and Bey have crossed paths, though. They were photographed together at the 2015 Grammys. And three years later, at the same show, Teigen experienced another slightly awkward moment with Bey.

“On our way out [of the Grammys], I was like, ‘We have to say something, right?’" Teigen told Jimmy Fallon in 2018. And I took both her hands—I don’t do this for anybody, it was very weird—and John’s like, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ And I took her hands and I got down on my knees and I was like, ‘Sorry to bother you, my queen.’ Like, who says that? It was like, ‘M’lady.’ Like, what do you—who am I?”
