Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Gift Friends an Epic "Cake" for the Holidays

Anyone who follows Chrissy Teigen on social media knows that the model is known for two things in particular (aside from being gorgeous): the woman has some serious food lust and a sick sense of humor. She and her husband, recording artist John Legend, showed just how cleverly they can combine the those two characteristics by sending out a holiday gift this year that, depending on your tastes, is either disgusting or brilliant.

The couple sent out a fried chicken-and-mashed potato “cake” that was so outrageous, recipient (and close friend of the Teigen-Legend family) Khloe Kardashian just had to Snapchat it — and couldn’t avoid spewing out an F bomb in the process. Needless to say, the clip below is NSFW.

What looks like a dessert at first glance is actually a “cake” frosted in mashed potatoes and with a generous portion of fried chicken placed on top. Teigen and Legen explained the rest of the ingredients in an attached note that read, “Thank God Christmas falls on Soul Food Sunday. Enjoy mashed potato iced, corn bread and yam filled, fried chicken topped cake of perfection!! Love you guys!”

If nothing else, the holiday gift is the answer to the question, “What do you get for people who have it all?”. Well, they certainly don’t have this.

Delish featured Teigen’s savory cake in a recent article, and called it “all of your Southern favorites layered into one incomprehensible dessert.” The cake was actually concocted not by Teigen, who loves to cook and has published a bestselling cookbook, but by “Los Angeles-based baker Bree Miller, aka Bree’s Cakes,” accordint to Delish. Teigen posted a photo of herself with the over-the-top, all-in-one meal, more than a year ago on Instagram.

“It’s like a whole meal in a slice of cake,” the chef said of her creation, which she brainstormed after being challenged by a friend. “He texted me a photo of a dish that was more like a casserole and asked if I thought I could recreate something like it with my own twist,” Miller says. “I was like, ‘heck yeah. Challenge accepted,'” she told the publication.

As for Kardashian, the cake wasn’t the only wild gift she Snapchatted. Jennifer Lopez also sent the reality star a badass, bejeweled pair of open-toe heels, along with a card that read, “Girl, you are looking so amazing!! Get some revenge in these! Love, Jennifer.”

An epic cake from Chrissy Teigen and killer heels from J-Lo? Sounds like a Christmas dream come true.
