On last night's (always) emotional This Is Us, Chrissy Metz's character dealt with an awkward moment viewers related to: not being able to fit into a booth at a restaurant. During a scene in which Kate joined Toby for a client meeting, a waitress brought the group over to a booth. Toby, trying to minimize Kate's discomfort, asked the waitress if they could be sat at a different table because this one had a draft. When she told him the other tables were reserved, Kate spoke up, saying she couldn't fit into the booth and joking that she should come with a warning for creating uncomfortable moments.

The scene ended with the waitress apologizing and moving them to another table, but the conversation continued on later in the episode when Toby confessed to Kate he's been losing weight thanks to Crossfit classes. He hadn't told her about his new gym life because she was "being a rockstar mom" (brb, sobbing) and he didn't want her to feel bad for not having the energy to hit the gym.

In an interview about the episode, Chrissy told People she could relate to this part of Kate's story:

"I think it’s inevitable to not have a resentment as a human being when someone is doing something you wish you were doing, or that you wish you could make time for, or you feel like you’re being left in the dust, and your partner is obviously doing a great job. With Kate, it’s difficult because there are so many layers to Jack being seeing impaired, and her not taking care of herself, but learning how to put the oxygen mask on herself."

While the show aired, fans tweeted that they could relate to the booth scene. One fan, who Chrissy responded to, wrote: "Chrissy I wish I had your courage. I live the booth nightmare. There are days I have wished myself get hit by a bus rather than deal w the embarrassment horrible people have done to me over it."

Chrissy tweeted back, "Your weight does not define you! People’s perceptions are theirs. You are worthy and purposeful no matter what," which led to even more responses from fans telling Chrissy she is a role model and thanking her for always staying positive.

Thankfully, Toby and Chrissy made up by the end of the episode, and Chrissy befriended a new neighbor on a walk who will prooobably become a major part of the storyline, if I had to guess. So, is it Tuesday again yet?!
