Nearly a decade ago, Todd and Julie Chrisley rose to fame with the launch of their reality TV show Chrisley Knows Best in March 2014 on USA Network. The self-proclaimed real estate moguls opened their Atlanta home and shared a glimpse of their family life, mainly comprised of their four children: Lindsie, Chase, Savannah and Grayson. Now, USA Network’s “most watched original seriesChrisley Knows Best may look different following Todd and Julie’s recent criminal charges.

What happened to Todd and Julie Chrisley?

On June 7, Todd and Julie were found guilty on multiple counts, including conspiring to defraud banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent personal loans, conspiring to defraud the IRS and tax evasion, according to the indictment. Apart from the total eight counts of financial fraud and two counts of tax evasion, Julie was also convicted with wire fraud and obstruction of justice.

The indictment states that before Todd and Julie starred on Chrisley Knows Best, they “submitted false bank statements, audit reports and personal financial statements to banks” to obtain loans After Todd filed for bankruptcy with $20 million in debt. Similar behavior reportedly happened again.

Around this time, Chrisley Knows Best took off and they “operated a loan-out company that received their income earned from their show and other entertainment ventures.” To avoid paying “delinquent taxes owed by Todd,” they “kept the corporate bank accounts only in Julie’s name.” The indictment detailed that Todd and Julie didn’t file their taxes with the IRS from 2013 to 2016.

You can read the complete verdict from the Department of Justice here. Todd and Julie’s accountant Peter Tarantino was also charged. The Chrisleys' sentencing is scheduled for October 6 and the couple could be given up to 30 years in prison.

Is Chrisley Knows Best still on?

As of right now, Chrisley Knows Best has not been canceled. According to multiple outlets, the second half of Chrisley Knows Best season 9 is still set to premiere on June 23. Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the latest installment was filmed before Todd and Julie went to trial in May.

Right around this time, USA Network renewed Chrisley Knows Best for a tenth season. A different source told TVLine that production for the next season has not started but USA Network previously said it would “air later in 2022.” The spinoff Growing Up Chrisley, which is about Chase and Savannah living in L.A., got a season 4. E! also had announced that Todd will host a new dating series called Love Limo next year.
