Warm neutrals like beige, tan, and brown have been trending since early 2023. The color palette has been featured in many celebrity spaces including Nicole Kidman’s living room and featured across interior designers' color trend predictions. It’s clear that the Selling Sunset realtor, Chrishell Stause has been paying attention. Forget her bubbly smile, her can-do attitude for selling homes in the Valley, and her recent marriage to Australian rapper G Flip, Chrishell has given us another reason to be obsessed with her.

The LA real estate mogul, Netflix reality star, and former Dancing With The Stars performer has shared photographs of her kitchen, living room, and patio across Instagram, all feature beige and brown heavily. In the living room, Chrishell pairs warm wood flooring with stark white walls for a more modern touch. On the other hand, the kitchen has a more textural look with layers of brown and beige combined for a warm, interesting look. Interior design experts say that Chrishell’s look perfectly captures the right way to decorate with neutrals.

First, the look is perfectly on trend. ‘We’ve been seeing a lot of beige and brown in homes this year’ says Carlin Van Noppen, principal interior designer and CEO at Fig Linens and Home. ‘Clients have been gravitating to these earthy neutrals for their warmer feel and natural look. Beige, tan, and brown help to give a home a cozy, comfortable vibe.’

Brianna Untener, NYC-based interior designer says ‘the trendiest neutrals we're seeing right now are light browns and taupe pinks. Whether or not you consider colors neutral, I feel they can add an element of surprise while still sitting in the neutral family.’ Chrishell’s home perfectly captures this property – beige and browns warm up the otherwise cool white rooms in her home.

Brianna Untener states that textural contrast and layered hues like those in Chrishell’s home are essential for bringing a warm neutral look together.  ‘My top tip for designing with neutrals with a brown undertone is to use different shades within that color range to keep the palette from looking muddy. Layer in the different colors through furniture, rugs, window treatments, and accessories to create a thoughtful space.’

She goes on to say: ‘To keep your neutral palette from looking boring, create interest with contrast and texture. This will keep the space feeling cohesive and layered since the same neutral color isn't being used over and over. Also, add pops of interest with metal details in lighting and accessories.’ This effect is especially evident in Chrishell’s kitchen, where bronze hardware emphasizes the beauty of the neutral shades in the room.

If there is anything we can learn from the celebrity real estate agent, its that the warm neutrals color scheme isn’t going anywhere. Shop the edit below for chic beige and tan accents for your home.
