Chris Stapleton and Snoop Dogg shared a major surprise with their fans today, as they two announced that they were teaming up to perform Phil Collins' song “In the Air Tonight.”

The collaboration is part of a special Monday Night Football broadcast, with Stapleton, 45, declaring it the "New Monday Night Football Anthem."

Ahead of the Sept. 18 premiere, the country artist promoted the collab on his Instagram feed. The clip mainly showcases Stapleton's vocals and intense cover of the hit song. While Snoop Dogg, 51, does make an appearance, the preview keeps his part in the performance a secret.

The rapper also shared the video on his own account, and fans couldn't be more excited for the team-up, as one proclaimed, "Snoop Dog and Chris Stapleton collab on Phil Collins…wild but beautiful."

"Chris Stapleton and Snoop is exactly what I need!" shared another.

One person couldn't help but note their surprise at the two musical icons working together, writing, "did not have Snoop & Chris Stapleton collab on my bingo card for 2023 but here we are and i’m not mad."

The musical performance even convinced one person to tune into Monday Night Football despite having no idea which teams are playing: "I don’t know who’s playing but I’ll be watching just to hear this song!"

Of course, social media users were just in awe of Stapleton's voice, with one joking, "He could sing the cooking directions on the back of a box of Stove Top and it would be a banger."

Many also shared their hopes that Stapleton performs at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, as one top-liked comment declared Stapleton as "the only artist worthy!!! 🔥." Stapleton performed the national anthem at the last Super Bowl.
