Chris Rock doesn't seem to be in a rush to smooth things over with Will Smith.
After Smith, 53, issued his second public apology to Rock in a lengthy YouTube video shared on Friday, July 29, where he once again addressed the notorious slap incident at the 2022 Oscars. After the new video, many wondered whether Rock, 57, was finally ready to bury the hatchet.
The Pursuit of Happyness actor admitted his behavior that night was unacceptable, referring to when he got violent with Rock over a joke aimed at his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith, bu, according to Us Weekly, "Chris has no immediate plans to have a one-on-one with Will." A source reportedly spoke to the publication regarding Rock's reaction to the latest apology, adding, "He's moving forward."
While Rock hasn't directly addressed Smith over the incident, he recently opened up about the experience of getting slapped across the face on the Oscars stage back in March.
"Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face," he joked while performing a comedy show in New Jersey earlier this month.
Later, on a more serious note, the Grown Ups star let his fans know that he wasn't letting the incident bring him down, stating, "I'm not a victim. Yeah, that sh*t hurt, motherf*cker. But I shook that sh*t off and went back the next day. I don't go to the hospital for a paper cut."
