Chris Pratt doesn’t have time for your childhood trophies and participation awards.

The Guardians of the Galaxy star (and water connoisseur) took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a series of photos showing his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, surrounded by trophies from her youth. All of them were meticulously cataloged by her doting parents, amicable exes Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“Maria has been storing special items from Katherine’s childhood for years. Which is so very thoughtful,” Pratt began the post’s lengthy caption. “To see my darling wife beaming with sentiment as she opens these crates of meticulously organized keepsakes, remembering her cherished youth, makes me grateful for the efforts her folks put into archiving.”

Then the tribute took a turn, and the movie star’s true feelings about participation awards were revealed. Pratt asked his followers: “But real talk…once your kid goes through the stuff, is it okay to toss? I mean...do we need the ‘I was on a sports team trophy?’ Can they be donated? Repurposed? How many do we gotta keep? Not all of them right? Any of them? Is there a grading scale?”

Pratt then helpfully suggested his own rubric to best determine if kids are award-worthy. “Did you win? Were you a champion? Is there a specific sentimental connection? Help me out here,” he begged.

Elsewhere in the post, the former Parks and Rec crack-up lightly roasted his wife for her attachment to her laurels. “I cannot say how proud I am of my wife for being a fourth-grade problem-solving superstar. There’s also a trophy for ‘most improved two-year-old’ in swim class,” Pratt marveled. “Wow!! Sorry to the other two-year-olds. You didn’t cut it. What’s that you say? She was the only two-year-old in swim class? I’m proud nonetheless.”

Pratt’s mother-in-law was undeterred, however. “I’m so happy. Here’s to story trophies and school work and dresses and party outfits,” Shriver toasted. “I feel vindicated.”

Schwarzenegger and Pratt share two young daughters. They married in 2019, a year after the actor split from ex-wife Anna Faris, with whom he shares an 11-year-old son.
