Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have officially announced the birth of their first child together. The couple chose to do so on Instagram, revealing they had a baby girl who they named Lyla.

"We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt," they wrote. "We couldn’t be happier and we feel extremely blessed! Love, Katherine and Chris." The couple chose to also share the first photo of her hands wrapped around her mother's.

Pratt and Schwarzenegger have been married a year now. This is Pratt's second child. He has a seven-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-wife Anna Faris.

Schwarzenegger's brother Patrick Schwarzenegger initially confirmed the news of the baby's arrival. He said in a video obtained by Entertainment Tonight, "They're doing great—just got her a little gift." He then showed off a present wrapped with a pink bow.

Pratt has spoken before about how he envisions having a big family with Schwarzenegger. In January 2019, in his first interview after he announced his engagement to Schwarzenegger, Pratt spoke about his dream. "[What I see in] the future? Oh. Lots of kids," he told Entertainment Tonight. "Maybe less time spent working, more time spent enjoying life...I always want to be that guy that works to live, not lives to work. I think [I want to spend] just a lot of time at the farm and a lot of time catching a lot of fish and seeing lots of sunsets."

A source spoke to Entertainment Tonight in June about how Schwarzenegger's pregnancy was going amid the coronavirus pandemic. "Chris and Katherine are thankful for their alone time recently as it has allowed them to enjoy the pregnancy together, giving them a forced sense of time to relax and prepare," the outlet's source said. "They know their baby is coming soon and can’t wait to welcome their new addition.”
