Chris Martin made a surprise appearance during one of his girlfriend Dakota Johnson's Zoom interviews this weekend.

During the 2022 Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, the actress hopped on a call with costars Cooper Raiff and Vanessa Burghardt to talk their upcoming dramedy, Cha Cha Real Smooth. After struggling to open the camera, she summoned boyfriend Martin into the room to help turn on her video for the interview. After several moments of troubleshooting together, the camera finally turned on, revealing Martin in the background of the frame beside Johnson.

"Welcome, welcome," interview host Charlie Sextro said upon the musician's unexpected arrival. Martin grinned and shot several peace signs before swiftly leaving the room.

Johnson stars alongside writer-director Raiff and Leslie Mann in the upcoming film as a single mother to an autistic child who is charmed by Raiff's character and the relationship he fosters with her daughter.

Johnson and Coldplay's Martin have been together since 2017. Though the two like to remain private about their relationship, the actress shared a glimpse of her cozy, intimate life with the musician in a recent interview with ELLE UK. "We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private," she told the magazine in December. "Most of the partying takes place inside my house."

She also opened up about their quarantine life in a November 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "[Post-COVID safety protocols have] been weird," Johnson said. "But my friends and my partner [Martin], we've been together a lot, and it's great."

Martin was previously married to Goop's Gwyneth Paltrow, who harbors very positive feelings toward Johnson. "I love her. ... I just adore her," she said of Johnson to Harper's BAZAAR in 2020.
